Poetry

HAVE YOU?

Have you found yourself?
Scribbling with words dusting letter after letter
Arranging them in cryptic sequence and enigmatic dance.
Just to sound smart.

Do you always try to use the sands of cynicism,
To cover emotions and crawl over ‘philosophy’
to face the camera as cold, hard, tough.

Have you found yourself, deepened in worry
Ached with the anxiety that sickens and grows
Only to kneel and face treacherous dreams
To bury yourself in the pillow that nests your tears forever.
What changed?

Have you been faced with a white screen.
Deadlines tugging at your neck, breathing fire down on you
Your phone buzzing with energy.
But your mind – empty as the deserted walkways.
Laminate your notebooks, for tears sake.

This is for you.
Every word you put down is an act of faith.
