Poetry as you.

Poetry as prayer, as meditation.
As a quiet anthem under your breath.
A rising symphony calling to worship all your dreams.
Poetry as the tears you cannot hide.
As the writings on the walls, enigmatic and strained,
The echos that never drown.
Poetry as the lullaby perfumed on your pillows.
Crowning your memories in eternal bliss.
Poetry as a shield, a defense to the madness circling the globe’s rings.
Poetry as the ticking tock, the second’s hand waning and warning.
Carrying the events of time in heavy verses, silky and breezy.
Poetry as visions out of the dry earth – singing ancient lays and saying to the darkness
“You cannot claim me for yourself”
Poetry as you- the stories of breaking centuries.
The unveiled seasons on your skin.
The rocky strength of generations, the biting voices that tell you.
“Today is the day you prayed for”

Thank God for you ooh that Poetry covers you to this extent.
